Description
Lemon Balm is a perennial herb that makes a delightful tea. Flowers are quite popular with pollinators.
Growth Habit
Lemon Balm has a bushy growth habit. It is also prone to spreading (and re-seeding!), so if you wish to contain it, be sure to plant in a pot. We prefer to have an edible landscape and heavily harvest the plant, so we do plant Lemon Balm in-ground in several areas.
1 plant is enough for most households to use for tea.
Cold Hardiness
Lemon Balm will die back in the fall/winter, but it survives Mt. Shasta winters just fine and will pop up again in spring.
Uses
We make tea, infuse it into water, and mix it into herb salads.
